Introduction to Fencing Class - April 29, 2009

The Chicago Fencing Club will begin its next Introduction to Fencing Class on April 29, 2009.

The class will introduce you to the basics of fencing, beginning with the foil. You will learn footwork, attacks, parries, and the rules of the sport.  Along with that you will also be introduced to the sabre and epee.

The class meets once a week for eight weeks. The class costs $150 and includes a fencing glove and an underarm protector.

The class will be held at at the Parkview Lutheran Church - 3919 N. Monticello.

Saturday - 12/13/08! D and Under Tournament

The Chicago Fencing Club is hosting a D and under tournament this Saturday at the Chandler Newberger Center at 1028 Central, in Evanston, Ill.

You can preregister at this link.

Bring your weapons! Bring your friends! Bring your friends' weapons!

Also, please bring proof of your USFA membership, or we will ask you to join on site. 

The Chandler Newberger Center is just west of the Purple Line El tracks and about half a mile east of the Northwestern Stadium.  

Fees are $20 for the first event and $10 for each additional event.

Weekly Update - 3/12/08

Due to scheduling we will open the Intro session to start tonight. 

We hope everyone who was able to attend the NAC either as a fencer, volunteer or spectator had a good time! 

 
Weekly Update - 3/5/08

This is a busy time CFC -

We start our spring Intro session tonight, space is still available, pop on in and try it out!  

This weekend is the NAC in Rosemont.  If you're interested in checking it out, the schedule is on the usfencing site.  

Clint will not be at practice next Monday, as he'll be refereeing at the NAC on Monday.
