All practices and coaches are available this week as we head toward a Holiday break. But first! Is the Holiday D & Under/Y-12 we're hosting this weekend in Evanston. Here's the link - http://askfred.net/Events/moreInfo.php?tournament_id=4968 Registration closes on Friday, 12/14/07.
We definitely could use some assistance setting up and tearing down this weekend from the club members. Talk to Diana or Clint if you're available Saturday afternoon to set up. As we now have snow on the ground, it is vitally important for everyone's safety that the floor be kept clean and dry. Please DO NOT wear wet shoes to fence, nor walk through the floor with wet shoes on. There will be no fencing in shoes worn through the snow.
Also, with the cold weather, we have the traditional cold and flu season. The coaches strongly encourage to take your vitamins, get plenty of fluids and rest and finally, stay home(!) if you're feeling at all ill.

We hope everyone had a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving! Now is the time to get back in the gym as the Illinois Junior Olympic Qualifiers are this Sunday at Northwestern AND IFC is hosting the IFC Open on Sunday for all the fencers ineligible for the Qualifier. As the JO Qualifiers is a qualifier for a National Championship, we ask that lesson priority be reserved for the competitors and that the club members acknowledge and respect this. |

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are open tonight, 11/19, but will not be meeting on Wednesday, 11/21. Enjoy your holiday! Also, the JO Qualifiers are right around the corner, all eligible fencers should be talking with their coach and registering for the event. |

Due to the NAC B in Dallas, Clint will not be at practice on Thursday. Robyn will be covering the workout and practice. Otherwise, the schedule is as normal this week. Our 6-week abbreviated Intro class starts this Wednesday. If you'd like to register, please do so before the class fills up. Space is limited. The next competitions are the Junior Olympic Qualifiers and the IFC Open, both on Jan 2. See Askfred.net for complete info. If you intend on attending either of those events, be sure to speak with a coach prior to the event. |
