As of today, the membership rates have increased. The monthly rate for the Recreational program increases to $40 and the yearly rate to $400. If you've paid for a year, your next payment will be the new rate. In addition, we have added a Competitive program with added benefits and costs. The full details will be published on the site soon. Those fencers in the club who are interested should speak with Diana or Clint in the next week or two. The referee seminar and competition will be September 15 & 16. If you plan on fencing, register on Askfred. If you are free Saturday evening to help set-up, please speak with Diana. And finally, we have an Intro class coming up on September 12th. This is a good time to get your friends and/or family to give it a try and find out why you're always at fencing practice! |

On September 15th, we will host a referee seminar that includes the test at Chandler-Newberger Community in Evanston. The seminar will be run by Jon Moss, and will be as comprehensive as the time allows. See the entry on AskFRED.net to register. The next day, September 16th, we will be hosting a D & Under and Y-12 competition. This will replace the yearly Chicago Fencing "Festival" due to unsustainable attendance (except for the Y-12 events). Again, it has been posted on AskFRED.net. All CFC members who are considering competing this season should plan to attend. Also, we will need volunteers to set up the gym in the afternoon the day before the event. There will be more reminders of this as the event gets closer. Also, there will be no practice next Monday, September 3 for the Labor Day holiday. |

Practices resume today for the week. Everyone is back from vacation, so we expect a full house this week. Please note that Tuesday, 8/21, there is a referee study session, not the normal conditioning practice. Bring a copy of the study guide and your rulebook and we'll answer all the questions together. The next Intro class starts early September, please email for more information. We'll post the schedule for the fall once it's been set. |
