Thomas is on vacation this week, Diana and Clint will cover the saber lessons in his absence. Tuesday's practice will be back to the normal schedule this week. Clint will be out for the month of July, only running the Tuesday practice. If you have any questions for him, take advantage of the next couple of weeks of practice to get them in.

Tomorrow, 6/5, is the next referee development course. We'll get a bit more in-depth. Participants may want to bring a copy of the penalty chart from the US edition of the Fencing Rules (available from US Fencing) Memorial Weekend was the Hutchinson Open at CAA: Open Mixed Saber: Clinton Smith - 6thTony Jochaniewicz - 7th We expect all coaches to be available at all practices this week (that they are normally scheduled for). As we get towards summer and warmer weather, the temptation to wear shorts is greater, however proper fencing safety requires long pants. The blades don't get any less dangerous just because it's warm. We want to ensure that everyone has a fun and safe experience at the club. |

A few assorted notes - - There will be no fencing next Monday, May 28 in observance of Memorial Day. Hope you all enjoy your holiday!
- The next right-of-way clinic will be held on June 5th. We will start at 7 pm. Parents - this is your chance to find out what's happening on the strip and get involved in a positive way.
- The last Hutchinson will be held this weekend - check AskFred.net for all the relevant information.
Tuesday practices - Diana is not there (she has a community class that evening), therefore you can not make up lessons/classes with her on Tuesdays.

A couple of notes - - The "Contact Us" page has been updated - by clicking on the link, you are sent to a page with the names of people to contact, by clicking on a name, you are sent to a web form to send an email to that person along with a short description of the kind of info to ask that person about. Please use the form wisely.
- There will be a new Intro session starting May 9th. This will be the last one of season.
- Starting July 11th, we will reprise our Summer "Open House" - this is an invitation for all interested to try fencing on Wednesday nights with the club. Bring some friends, find out what the sport is all about.
